In the heart of northern Mexico, where industry pulses to the rhythm of innovation and technology reshapes the path of mobility, LEONI Durango stands out with strength and determination, launching new projects, achieving new certifications, and launching production lines that reinforce its leadership within the automotive sector.
On February 24, 2026, the company held a constructive meeting with the Government of the State of Durango to share the growth vision driving the organization forward, further consolidating its position as a pioneer in the manufacturing of automotive wiring harnesses for electric and autonomous vehicles. This milestone represents a strategic advancement for LEONI’s operations in Mexico and for the industrial development of the state.
The meeting, led by the Constitutional Governor of the State, Dr. Esteban Villegas Villarreal, included a review of the current project status, highlighting the ramp-up phase of 14 new production lines. To support this expansion, the company has allocated an investment of USD 10.9 million in advanced technology, strengthening its operational capabilities and ensuring alignment with the highest automotive industry standards. This new phase is expected to generate approximately 250 jobs during 2026, primarily for production operators, with projections to maintain or potentially increase this number in 2027 as the project continues to develop. The Governor emphasized that each new job represents better opportunities for one more family, reaffirming the positive social impact of industrial investment.
On behalf of the company, LEONI was represented at the meeting by Michel Da Lio, Managing Director and CEO Mexico; Jesús Paz, Plant Manager Durango; Roman Kalynchuk, Head of Project Management Mexico; and Iracema Román, Head of Communications Mexico and official media representative of the company, who presented project progress, technological investment details, and expansion outlook. Government representatives included Fernando Miguel Rosas Palafox, Secretary of Economic Development; Juan Jaciel Chacón Bueno, Director General of Strategic Projects and Programs; Víctor Hugo Hernández Fuentes, Director of Social Communication; and Ricardo López Solís, Undersecretary of Business and Industrial Development, strengthening institutional dialogue in support of investment, competitiveness, and job creation.
During the press conference, the company reaffirmed that the talent of Durango has been a decisive factor in the sustained growth of operations, highlighting employees’ commitment, willingness to learn, and adaptability to highly specialized manufacturing processes. LEONI reaffirmed its confidence in its workforce and in the region’s industrial capabilities. Additionally, North America was identified as a strategic region for potential expansion, including the possibility of establishing a new plant, location yet to be defined, with Durango among the options, which would involve further investment in technology, infrastructure, and employment generation.
At LEONI, we are committed to connecting talent and innovation to drive the mobility of tomorrow. When industry, government, and community move forward together, progress is measured not only in production output, but in opportunities that transform lives. Each investment, each production line, and each job created represents a decisive step toward a more innovative, competitive, and sustainable future.
