Together for a Cleaner Planet!

On Saturday, June 14th, over 80 LEONI Yucatán team members from the Mérida 1 and Mérida 2 plants gathered at “La Caleta” harbor to take part in an important beach cleanup event. Organized by the civil association Limpiemos Yucatán in coordination with the Progreso, Yucatán government, this event signified our community’s strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

At the beginning of the day, all participants received special training on proper waste separation and were equipped with gloves, masks, and designated bags to facilitate the cleanup. Thanks to this effort, we successfully collected 1,032.14 kilograms of waste—mainly PET, glass, aluminum, and cardboard—making a significant contribution to preserving our natural environment.

The cleanup took place in a spirit of teamwork, support, and friendship, our colleagues made teams united by a shared cause: protecting and preserving the beauty of our beaches. Activities like this reinforce the social and environmental responsibility that defines LEONI and promote values that extend beyond our workplace.
