Last Friday, December 12, the LEONI plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, welcomed the visit of Dr. Anis Kammoun, Chief Operating Officer of LEONI, in a key meeting to review progress, share learnings, and strengthen alignment with the company’s global strategy.
During the visit, the importance of showcasing the progress achieved by the Hermosillo operation in recent years was highlighted, along with reaffirming its commitment to LEONI’s global strategy and the objectives defined for Mexico. In this context, it was acknowledged that while significant progress has been made, there is still an important journey ahead—one that can only be accomplished through teamwork and a clear vision for the future.
Ramsés Tirado, Hermosillo Plant Manager, shared that one of the most memorable moments of the tour was the Gemba Walk in the WPA area, where lessons learned were exchanged among different plants, both within and outside Mexico. This exchange enabled the analysis of experiences, the identification of new implementation opportunities, and the reinforcement of a culture of continuous improvement based on collective learning and cross-site collaboration.
Likewise, Dr. Kammoun emphasized the importance of closing the year with focus and discipline, while underscoring the need to begin preparing now to meet the objectives set for 2026. During the tour, particular attention was drawn to advances and projects related to artificial intelligence and automation—key drivers for strengthening competitiveness, efficiency, and operational sustainability.
In this context, Dr. Kammoun expressed great enthusiasm about the scope and potential that artificial intelligence represents for Mexico and, in particular, for the Hermosillo operations. He highlighted that these initiatives position LEONI Mexico as a key reference in the group’s digital transformation and shared his expectation that 2026 will mark the consolidation of a real-time performance AI model at a national level, as well as the development of an artificial intelligence model that will serve as a benchmark for operations, strengthening decision-making and operational excellence.
The visit reaffirms the strategic role of LEONI Mexico within the global operation and reinforces the commitment to continue moving forward with a shared vision, driven by innovation, continuous improvement, and strong teamwork across all operations.
