My story at LEONI
Hello, my name is Omar Aguayo, I am a Psychologist and I joined LEONI six years ago. Throughout this time, I have experienced professional and personal growth that I greatly value. Currently, I am in charge of the Services Administration area, a role that allows me to coordinate and optimize several key aspects for the efficient operation of the plant.
My story at LEONI began through the selection process for the Recruiter position. In 2018, I started on a project with one of our clients, with the challenge of meeting an ambitious goal: 120 weekly hires. Together with my team, we managed to go beyond this goal and hired more than 1,600 people in different locations in the state of Yucatan. This experience was not only challenging but also rewarding, as it provided job opportunities to communities that previously had no jobs available.
After this initial success, I joined the Administration team. In this new stage, I faced challenges such as event management and process optimization, which allowed us to reduce staff turnover. Thanks to my responsibility and commitment, I advanced to my current position, where I coordinate the plant's services and continue to look for ways to improve.
This is my job
My day starts at 4:00 a.m., making sure there are no complaints or delays in transportation service. From 6:00 a.m. to 6:45 a.m., I supervise that the routes arrive on time at the plant. During the morning, I make tours of the different areas to ensure that the personnel are performing their activities properly and that the services offered maintain high quality, guaranteeing that our collaborators work in a dignified environment. In the afternoons, I focus on inventorying supplies and preparing reports according to the requests received.
My highlight
One of the most challenging moments at LEONI was when I managed to fill a truck with 45 people for a recruitment process, something no one expected. Four days prior, I was knocking on doors at homes and businesses to invite people to get to know the company. The result was amazing: 39 of the 45 people recruited joined LEONI, surpassing the weekly goal of 100 hires and reaching a total of 125.
Every day at LEONI is a challenge and is never the same as the previous one. These challenges are what make my job exciting and rewarding.
My view of LEONI as an employer
LEONI is the best place to develop professionally, even if you have no previous experience in the industry. Here, you not only learn and grow as a person but also contribute to the success of others. I deeply value the people I work with; they are truly exceptional. The culture at LEONI is fascinating, with a harmonious team atmosphere and opportunities to connect with people from different parts of the world.
If I had to describe LEONI in three words, they would be: integrity, challenge and connectivity.
My tips
For those starting at LEONI, my advice is to be confident in your knowledge and skills, even in difficult times. Self-confidence is key to move forward.
