My story at LEONI

My name is Luis Gerardo Lira Mata and I started working at LEONI in February 2015. Over the past 9 years, I have had the opportunity to grow and move forward in several roles within the company. I started my career as a Production Operator in the taping area. In July of the same year, I had the opportunity to take on the role of Materialist, when a second line was being launched in the same area. Then, in May 2017, I applied internally for the Materials Technician position and, after the selection process, I joined the Logistics department. In September 2019, after three years in this position, I took the opportunity to continue growing in the company and applied for the position of Warehouse Manager. This change was possible thanks to the constant motivation of my supervisor, who supported my professional growth. In October 2022, I decided to look for a new challenge and assumed my current position as Warehouse Supervisor, a role that I still hold.

This is my job

My day starts at 5:15 in the morning. After getting ready, I prepare my things to leave and take the route to work. When I arrive, I review the activities and pending tasks from the previous shift, I check the materials in the cutting area and the pending tasks to be supplied, then I take a tour of the production lines to make sure that everything is working and that there is no shortage of material. During lunch, I take the opportunity to talk and have a good time with my colleagues in the area. In the afternoon, I review the check-in log and vacation register and make sure that the activities requested by my supervisor are being carried out. I hand over any pending tasks and prepare to end the shift. To close my day well, I return home to my children, help them with their homework and spend quality time with them.

My highlight

One of the most exciting achievements in my career at LEONI has been being named Warehouse Supervisor, a position that I currently hold with great pride.

This is a very special company for me, as it has supported me in my professional and personal growth. I deeply value all the knowledge and the training it has given me until today. The atmosphere in my work team feels like a big family. For me, LEONI represents stability, learning and growth.
