My story at LEONI

To reach the position I hold today, I went through several areas within the company. I began as an operator in the CAT preparation area, which was the very first client with whom LEONI Durango started operations. Later, I was able to take a step forward as a Quality Inspector, where I spent one month on probation period to become familiar with the quality standards of each process. I held that position for about three months therefore the opportunity arose to become a Quality Technician. After successfully passing a series of quality criteria exams, I was fortunate to be accepted.

Years later, I was promoted to the Finance Department, where I was entrusted with auditing warehouses. Shortly after, I began working in cycle counting, a role similar to auditing, also within the Production area. From there, I was offered the chance to collaborate in the Training department, then in Customs, and eventually in the Purchasing department, where I am currently part of the Logistics team.

This is my job

At the start of my workday, I begin by organizing and cleaning my workspace. I start with files that contain support information for the team, then review documents to monitor any potential issues that may arise with the materials. I verify inventories, checking for surpluses or shortages, and investigate the root causes when discrepancies occur. If necessary, I request materials from sister plants and consult the system to identify which items need to be ordered. Finally, I ensure that suppliers receive the purchase orders.

My highlight

My journey at this plant began in December 2008, a date forever etched in the memories of those fortunate to witness its inauguration. There were few of us, yet the excitement and enthusiasm filled the space with hope and the promise of new beginnings.

Over the years, every celebration has left its mark: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Children’s Day—moments that never go unnoticed; and, in a very special way, Women’s Day, when I have had the honor of being recognized twice as a LEONI Woman of Value, an award I owe to the generous support of my colleagues, who have been an essential part of this journey.

My view of LEONI as an employer

LEONI is a company that opens doors to growth, both personal and professional—a place where opportunities become realities. In my own experience, I have had the privilege of experiencing this development, which inspires one to give their very best. Furthermore, the company stands out for offering benefits that few other companies in Durango can match, reflecting its commitment to the well-being and advancement of its people.

My tips

Take every opportunity to learn as much as you can; that knowledge will be your greatest ally and will make all the difference when opportunities for growth and promotions arise within the company.
