My story at LEONI
I joined LEONI on May 29, 2017, when the plant was still in its installation phase. As it was initially empty, I received three months of training in Durango and then returned to participate in the installation of the production lines, as well as line balancing and efficiency calculations, using the Durango plant’s experience as a reference.
It was an intense period of personal and professional learning, with high workloads and multiple challenges, as it was an uncommon industry for the region. This required constant communication with other plants at the national level. These challenges strengthened the team and contributed to the gradual improvement of the plant’s results.
In November 2018, I assumed the position of Industrial Engineering Leader, where I developed leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while participating in efficiency, cost-reduction, and process automation projects. In May 2022, during LEONI’s organizational restructuring, I took on the role of Team Leader Production Preparation, which has allowed me to manage both the definition and implementation of projects on the production floor and to strengthen my strategic approach aligned with LEONI’s global vision.
This is my job
On a regular day, I review the planning and progress of projects under implementation, closely following up with the team to validate status, identify obstacles, and provide support in problem solving. I also participate in meetings with other departments to review and adjust strategies according to production or customer needs, anticipate potential risks, and standardize processes that enable a more agile response and more efficient work.
My highlight
Throughout my career, I have experienced many relevant moments, but among the most significant in recent years are the transfer of the C1TL project from China to Mérida, which required detailed planning and a high level of coordination.
Likewise, the implementation of production lines for a new customer allowed me to integrate best practices from previous projects and other plants. As a third key highlight, my participation in a leadership course alongside department heads strengthened mutual understanding, alignment of needs, and the achievement of better results.
My view of LEONI as an employer
I consider LEONI to be a company with enormous learning opportunities. As a global organization, it offers standards and strategies that are uncommon in the region, within a dynamic and challenging industry environment. This enables individuals to fully develop their problem-solving potential, supported by the guidance of experienced experts worldwide. Throughout my time at the company, I have seen that LEONI is in constant evolution, adapting to changes and challenges with the goal of continuous improvement.
My tips
The advice I always share with my team is to remain open to learning and to know how to take advantage of mistakes or setbacks as opportunities for growth. Today, soft skills are a key strength in work teams, especially the ability to adapt positively in times of adversity. Maintaining a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and resilience is essential to succeed in any work environment.
